Eleanor Strutt is a British stage director and choreographer whose work spans opera and musical theatre. She is driven by a deep passion for the interplay between text, music, and movement, creating storytelling that feels both emotionally grounded and physically expressive.
A graduate of King’s College London (BMus Music, First Class) and Trinity Laban (MMus Vocal Performance, Distinction), Eleanor recently completed her Junior Fellowship as Assistant Director at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama (2024–25).
Her recent directing highlights include the European premiere of Fellow Travelers (Gregory Spears & Greg Pierce) and The Crucible (Robert Ward) for UCOpera, L’Elisir d’Amore for Opera South East, and Singin’ in the Rain for Geoids Musical Theatre, which she also choreographed. She has also assisted on Rigoletto (Royal Opera House), Trial by Jury / A Matter of Misconduct (Scottish Opera), and Don Giovanni and The Ring Cycle (Regents Opera).
Forthcoming projects include directing the European Premiere of Jake Heggie’s If I Were You for UCOpera, Opera Scenes at Trinity Laban, and assisting Mark Ravenhill on Salome for Regents Opera before directing their summer tour of Rigoletto.
Eleanor is the Artistic Director of Heritage Opera.
